Home Schools Children's Centres Early Years Settings Local Authorities
I have worked in Local Authorities for over 10 years, first as an employee of Children's Services (Early Years Teams, Children's Centre teams) as an Early Years Support teacher, an Every Child a Talker (ECAT) consultant and Senior Early Years Educational Psychologist. In the last five years, I have developed to work as an independent trainer and consultant. I have delivered training and other approaches such as group supervision that has been commissioned by a Local Authority to meet specific needs:
  • for specific groups of staff such as Children's Centre teachers, childminders and Family Support Workers
  • early years settings requiring identified specific support on curriculum issues
  • written and co-deliver training packages for specific needs such as child development, observation and documentation
  • knowledge on curriculum
If this is an approach you are interested in, please contact me.

I am able to deliver the following courses centrally to Local Authorities
as either full day packages, twilight staff meeting sessions, evenings or Saturdays. The training has been most successful when divided into separate sessions. These sessions are planned to suit the preferences of the practitioners in the Local Authority, with staff agreeing to take on small, manageable actions in between the sessions using an action planning approach.  This allows the Local Authority to track impact in the area of training identified.
A free consultation on the design of the training is offered with each training package booked!
A full evaluation report on the impact of the training can be completed on request

Testimonials from Local Authority professionals on training regarding SEN

When it came to thinking about who best to ask to present to the SENCo conference in November on the subject of Early Support, early intervention, attachment and behaviour issues, Anita was our natural choice and I'm writing on behalf of quite a large planning team.

Anita is a confident and motivational presenter and a very knowledgeable expert on child development and early support.  The feedback from over one hundred delegates was very positive across the board and I met experienced SENCOs who learned information about Early Support and support networks that they hadn't known about previously.
